The designated Scotland Pavilion welcomed visitors with a daily, live music programme and ceilidh dancing.Īward-winning arts writer Sue Wilson gave a first-hand account of the success of Scotland's presence at the festival in The Scotsman, and Bruce MacGregor presented Radio Scotland's flagship folk programme at the festival. The Gala Opening Concert featured an all-Scottish line-up produced by the award winning Hebridean Celtic Festival, and a special Grand Night of Scotland concert curated by Artistic Director of Scotland’s premiere international music festival Celtic Connections, Donald Shaw. ![]() The largest showcase for traditional Scottish music in mainland Europe, the festival offered an unprecedented opportunity to highlight the diversity and quality of Scotland’s finest musical talent on the international stage to audiences of over 750,000. Legendary names took to the stage alongside ground-breaking talent throughout the festival, which ran from 4 - 13 August 2017. Scotland presented 220 of its finest Traditional, Gaelic and Celtic artists as the Guest Country of Honour at this year's Festival Interceltique de Lorient, Europe’s largest Celtic music festival held in Brittany, France. ![]()
